Daniel Rachel and Charlie Higson

Daniel Rachel and Charlie Higson

In 1979, 2 Tone exploded into the national consciousness, as records by The Specials, The Selecter, Madness, The Beat and The Bodysnatchers burst onto the charts and the definitive post-punk youth movement was born. Charlie Higson, comedy writer and actor from The Fast Show, fronted The Higsons, a band featured on the label. Daniel and Charlie chat about the political and social backdrop to the music, covering racism, class and gender struggles. Chaired by Siân Pattenden.
