Local Author Showcase

Local writers read their work, talk about the craft of writing and the process of self-publishing. This is a free event with a retiring collection and complimentary glass of wine. All welcome – please register below for a free ticket. Event runs 5–7pm

 

 

Frances Beaumont

A former occupational therapist Frances writes poetry and short stories, and is currently working on Johnny No Hands, a combined memoir, biography and love story about the extraordinary life of Owen John Oliver.

Jane Sheridan

The Orchid House, published in June 2021 – a novel about the relationships between three friends, set in Sandwich, Kent. 

Teresa Devereux

Author of fictional works Broken Lives and her sequel The Marginalised. Teresa is a former social worker qualified to work with families and children with disabilities. She is now a full-time writer and campaigner for social justice.

GC Fisher

A detective yarn that mixes the real world with the supernatural, Canterbury Murders follows the lives of three generations of women who come to Kent from Ireland. Published in 2020. 

The Inklings

Denise Turner reads an extract  from The Great Magician of Istanbul, a novel in progress, set in the 16th-century Ottoman Empire.

Griselda Mussett will be reading from her collection of stories about Lily Bottom, a little market town in the south of England.

Nelson P Jefferson will be reading a new short story, 'Norman Strangeways vs the Tailgaters'.
