The unmissable Luke Wright is coming to Faversham and there are two chances to see him perform!
Luke is feature poet at the Friday-night Poetry Slam event. A well-read scholar and master of poetic form, Luke's poetry – full of anecdote, historical vignettes, social commentary and acute observations on life – will leave you breathless. Fast-paced and exciting! Luke will be followed by the Slam event in which 10 Kent poets battle it out for the title.
Friday 21 February, The Old Brewery Store, 7.30–11.30pm. £5
In the Poetry Hub on Saturday Luke will be performing his political verse-poem 'The Remains of Logan Dankworth', full of snarl and spit, which looks at trust and privilege in the age of Brexit – an intensely personal story occurring against the backdrop of political upheaval. Expect panache, humour and a lot of style!
Saturday 22 February, The Limes, 2–3pm. £10 (*ticket price includes access to other poetry events in the Poetry Hub on the same day).
