Tim Mitchell

Local author Tim Mitchell's biography of nineteenth-century poet, Albert Mérat (friend of Paul Verlaine and enemy of Rimbaud) gives as much weight to his life as to his work, and also includes eighty of Tim's own translations of Mérat's poems. He will be talking about Mérat's life, work and contemporaries, as well as the difficulties of poetry in translation, with poet, translator and essayist Simon Smith, honorary reader at University of Kent.
