Julia Hollander

From lullabies to songs for the dying, Why We Sing is a fascinating exploration of singing in all its varied forms, told through personal anecdote and scientific fact-finding to investigate the way singing works and why it is re-establishing itself as an essential aspect of contemporary life, with people of all ages and backgrounds waking up to the joys of singing, its power to give hope and connection in a fragmented world, and its importance to our wellbeing.

Singing therapist, teacher and performer Julia Hollander will be talking to David Knotts, a pianist, composer and conductor, who has 20 years' experience working with singers of all ages. David is chair of Faversham Music Club and director of Faversham Voices.
